In the past few days, the violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem has spiraled out of control and turned deadly.

Now, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has said enough is enough.

In a statement released through the Spokesperson office today, Ban expressed alarm at the recent escalations.

“The Secretary-General is profoundly alarmed by the growing number of deadly incidents in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The last few days of clashes, which resulted in the death of four Palestinians, including a 13-year old boy, and hundreds injured, are yet another worrisome sign of violence potentially spiraling out of control,” the statement read.

The Secretary-General also warned Israel to consider if their “use of force was proportional” and chastised the country for demolishing the homes of suspected Palestinian terrorists, including those involved in the Jerusalem stabbings over the weekend.
