Joseph’s Tomb Torched by Rioters as Hamas Calls for ‘Day of Rage’

A holy site with significance to Christians and Jews has been torched in the West Bank.

Joseph’s Tomb — the traditional burial place of Patriarch Jacob’s son Joseph — is located in the West Bank town of Nablus, a town under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian authority.

Sometime overnight, Palestinian rioters — who were forming a barricade to keep out IDF forces — used Molotov cocktails to set fire to the site.

The IDF responded to the attack by promising to “bring perpetrators to justice, restore the site & ensure that freedom of worship returns to Josephs Tomb,” according to IDF spokesman Peter Lerner in a tweet.
